fter her mother’s death, Rhonda Vesey said she was looking for some sunshine. Going through a bout of depression, she says her life changed when she saw a need on Syracuse’s Southside: food accessibility.
“I know good and well there is no fresh food, other things in ‘Dollar General, ’ but no access to fresh food,” Vesey said.
So she planted the seed, starting Food Access Healthy Neighborhoods Now, a market that offers fresh food to people in Valley Plaza. It’s a partnership with Brady Farm, Plum and Mule, Upstate University Hospital, and more.
